Most of the time, we just go about our business, doing what we do. We rarely think it remarkable, at least not of ourselves. Yet, ask us about our girlfriends, and we can wax prolifically about how amazing they are.

There are fantastic women all around us, and blessed are those of us who can call them friends.

I’m a lucky lady, because I have incredible friends. Yet, I still find this a difficult post to write, because one of those fantastic friends did something that became about me.

Unbeknownst to me, my dear friend, Jennifer Gardella, nominated me for the YWCA Women Who Make a Difference Award. And astoundingly, I became on of the honorees and recipients.

I’m not sure how I make a difference, but I suspect that if I do, it’s in no small part because I’m inspired by the women around me to always try and be better, do better, and take care of my part of the world. And if it does make a difference, then I’m glad, if for no other reason than I’m at least reciprocating in part to the friends who keep me sane, love me, and accept me even with all of my crazy.

So, I’m not going to say anything more; I’ll just share some of the photos from an amazing night that I got to share with my friends, my mother and my long-suffering and supportive husband.

Thank you, to Jennifer Gardella, Denice Whitely, Robyn Graham, Kristin Smedley, Kathy Marcino, Debbie Goetz and Laura Templeton for celebrating with me and being my posse. Love you all!
