One of the great things about ‘The Art of Illustration,’ the first Members Show of the Bucks County Illustrators Society this coming week, is that this cartoon will never happen there –  there isn’t one piece of art in our show that you’ll scratch your head over and think, ‘Now what is that supposed to be?’

That’s because the art from magazines, sports cards, children’s stories and fantasy books appeals to people – it connects with what they experience in their every day lives.  You can see some of mine, and many other fun and beautifully drawn original pieces of illustration at the BCIS Show from June 26 to 28.  It’s held in the Cultural Center on the beautifully gardened estate of the Nobel prize-winning author Pearl S. Buck, at 520 Dublin Road, Perkasie, PA. There will be a delightful wine & cheese reception on the final night, Friday June 28 from 7 to 9 pm, to which the public is invited.

There are also special talks and presentations by three of our illustrators, some geared for children, during the three days – you can read more about it, and the other terrific artists involved, at http://www.bcillustrators.org/event/bcis-2013-member-show/  Works of a few of these artists are pictured below:
